One Fourth of U.S. Bird Species in Danger

The Audubon and the American Bird Conservancy have issued an alert stating that roughly a quarter of the nation’s 700 bird species are in danger because of human activities. This information was concluded based on the Christmas Bird Count’s annual Breeding Bird Survey and other sources. The organizations have concluded that 178 bird species in the continental U.S. and 39 in Hawaii are in jeopardy.
