The Milford Health Department and state Department of Environmental Protection are working with AIG Investments, owner of a parcel containing groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents, to clean the property using microorganisms. The Connecticut Aerosols company once occupied the 12-acre lot, located at 65-145 Furniture Row in Milford. Although this technology is fairly novel, it has been safely employed throughout the country and does not appear to detrimentally affect humans, wildlife, or the environment, according to health director Dr. A. Dennis McBride.
