Fairfield’s GE Energy sells $1 Billion in Wind Turbines

Chicago-based Invenergy LLC purchased $1 Billion in wind turbines from Fairfield-based GE Energy, a unit of General Electric Co. When the wind turbines are shipped in 2009, Invenergy will be supplied with 600 megawatts of 1.5-megawatt wind turbines for projects throughout North America and 200 megawatts of wind turbines for projects in Europe. According to GE, this combined energy will supply 275,000 households with wind power.
