Building Standards Guide Energy Conservation Efforts

Sustainability in Building Codes, the first U.S. standard for high performance buildings, may be released by the end of 2008. This standard will outline requirements for new high-performance commercial building designs and building renovations addressing energy efficiency, atmospheric impact and water use efficiency to name a few. The Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, designed by Atlanta-based American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in 2007, helps engineers conserve energy by upgrading minimum building envelop requirements. Both standards cater to “net-zero” energy buildings, those that annually offset their energy consumption with energy production for the utility’s power grid.

These new building and renovation standards are very effective as they lead to a great energy conservation.More than a half of the people from Pheonix renovated their houses and gave a lot of electronics and many other devices to the mesa junk removal as they wanted to buy some eco-friendly ones in order to protect the environment.
