Solar panels were recently installed on i.Park Norwalk, a corporate complex that will house medical offices and Norwalk Hospital staff. These solar panels, which were installed by Mercury Solar Systems of Greenwich, cover the 400,000-square-foot building’s roof. They contribute to a $50 million project that will help i.Park comply with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, established by the U.S. Green Building Council. In addition to this green roof, the building will boast a two-story atrium with natural lighting and bamboo trees for an environmentally friendly atmosphere. i.Park is located in the former PerkinElmer building on the Norwalk-Wilton line and was acquired by Greenwich-based National RE/Sources.
